Founded by Andrew Williams in 2008, Mechtek, a Cwmcarn-based engineering and automation company, specialises in designing, building and installing automated production lines for manufacturing companies.
The business has identified and targets a niche market, providing automated production lines for the manufacturing of heavy duty lead acid batteries for forklift trucks, amongst others.
Mechtek is currently working on an order in excess of £1.2 million for a production line in Poland, and is in the final stages of a quote for a line in the USA with an expected value of £1.8million. The business recently completed a similar order for delivery to China.
Once Mechtek secures a contract, the production line is built and tested on site at the company's Cwmcarn premises; after testing procedures have been completed, the plant is dismantled and shipped to the customer site, before being re-assembled by Mechtek's engineers.
